Origin: This breed of demon hails from a world consumed by war and civil turmoil. They are a race evolved from generic demons and angels. Their numbers are low on their own world due to being hunted, and it is difficult to reproduce Soul Demon spawn as their traits are usually dormant or recessive. It is rare, but possible, to find Soul Demons outside of their home realm.

Homelands: None. Soul Demons are nomads in their own world. Their race is uncommon and never settled into one region. They typically attempt to blend in with demon colonies. On other worlds, they will settle (if permitted) where they please.

Personality: Soul Demons typically close themselves off from others in one way or another. Antisocial habits are very common among the race, leading to a common disdain for public events and situations. When forced into social situations they may display a sort of ‘tick’, nervous habit, or completely avoid interaction. They prefer quiet and solitude, as it is easier to defend attackers if their surroundings are clear of noise.

Physical Description: Each Soul Demon appears human, save for a few key features. Their eyes are most commonly a deep red with varying irises that depict their demonic heritage. They also possess a set of feathered wings that vary in color (usually matches hair color). These wings can be transformed to give the illusion the demon is wearing a cape or some type of clothing. While the wings are in such a state, the Soul Demon cannot fly. If their wings get wet or burned, they will be unable to fly until they dry/heal.

Lifespan: On their home world, up to 2000 years. Moving to different worlds/realms lowers life expectancy by varying amounts. The cause is unknown.

Common Names: Names are usually derived from Demonic, Angelic or Latin origins as Soul Demons are commonly born from those bloodlines.

Relations: Soul Demons are despised by all races in their realm, even by other demonic races. They are seen as barbaric, foul demons that steal the souls of others. This is mainly because of the Soul Demon’s primal ability that activates if they are brought to the brink of death. Over time as their numbers dwindled, most Soul Demons fell into their own stereotype thereby perpetuating it. Fighting to survive and bringing death and destruction to the places they roam.

Natural Abilities: This race has a high affinity for channeling Soul Energy, but very low affinity for using other energy types. They are not unable to use other energies, but they are unskilled in their use. As such, their Soul and Natural Energy (Soul Energy) stats rise quicker than others and are generally high. Their souls cannot be stolen, absorbed or controlled so long as they are alive.
Soul Demons possess dark vision. They can see clearly at night and in areas with no light. They can also detect the souls of others. To be specific, they can
feel the presence of other souls, not
see. Unless a target possesses the ability to hide the presence of their
soul (spirit energy and life force count as well), a Soul Demon can detect said target.
Every Soul Demon has a powerful Super Form that activates when they are near death. It can never be used at-will, as it is a primal defense mechanism. Other super forms can be learned/used at-will.

Natural Restrictions: Soul Demons rely completely on Soul Energy for their energy abilities and spells. Using abilities slowly whittles away at their reserves, and in turn lowers their stats overall. Think of it as using a rechargeable battery. As you use more energy, the output becomes weaker. Soul Energy can be replenished by absorbing it directly, eating, sleeping or simply resting. The latter three methods replenish much less energy than direct absorption.
Though it is possible for them to do so, Soul Demons are not required to eat or drink in order to live.
They are vulnerable against divine & light magic and have a strong resistance to demonic & dark magic.

Force: Unleash a burst of Soul Energy. Can be used to push objects/people, move about in midair or cling to vertical/horizontal surfaces against gravity.
Devour: Allows the user to absorb soul energy from deceased souls and spirits. This does not kill the soul, nor does it completely erode it. The soul’s essence will remain, allowing for reincarnation or its passing. Souls may be absorbed this way through ingestion or physical contact.
Blend: Dulls the user’s presence by suppressing their Soul Energy and scent.

Final Stance: This is a loose term used for the Soul Demon’s ability that activates when they are beaten to a near-death state, or lose too much Soul Energy. The name changes based upon the nature of the demon’s transformation. Typically, the Soul Demon is bathed in a torrent of their own dormant energy, significantly raising different stats. Other effects occur, but are dependent on the Soul Demon’s personality, fighting style and environment (where they grew up). During this transformation, the user loses all rational thought and cannot recognize friend from foe. They will attack any being that attacks them or poses a threat. This form will last until either the user, or all of their foes, are killed. After reversion, the user will be nearly completely depleted of Soul Energy, rendering them vulnerable until they rest or absorb more energy. This form cannot be used until the user has rested and replenished enough energy to exit their "near-death" status.
