Lost And Found

Saika paused, mulling that over. "Why? ...Because some people are just stupid. Last that's how I see it. I've never understood the motives of some people. Why they seem so willing to hurt innocent people. It's disgusting, really... it's the horrible people in the world that make it hard to have trust in others... personally, I'm not sure I could ever fully trust anyone other than my family ever again, after the things I've been through."

"Here, here." Tica said, agreeing with what Saika had to say on the subject. Not that I was exactly the best person to be around when I was younger. But that's another story.

Cadmus shrugged, he had no comment on it really. For some reason, despite not knowing them as long he trusted Latria and Tohr. Even if he had only known them for a short time, they were already in a way, like family to him. However, Tohr's descrpiton of the man amused him, but the kid usually did. Kids were funny.

"Say, Tohr." Cadmus said, thinking. "Have you ever met anyone who uses physic powers? Like..moving stuff with their mind, that sort of thing?"

Tohr thought for a moment. "My friend from school. He can move stuff without touching it. He has a hard time with books, though. Heavy stuff makes him all tired." When he couldn't think of anyone else, he continued, "That's it. I don't think he can read minds n' stuff. Why? Wazzat old looking guy a psychic too?"

Saika remained silent for the moment. For one, she was curious about what Cadmus was getting at with his question to Tohr. Second, she'd pissed herself off. She'd brought up and thought about some past events, and now she was in a bad mood. SHe did her best to let it go, knowing Eirin would be disappointed in her for letting stuff like that affect her ability to do her job.

"Because, the people we ran into, apparently there was a physic involved in the whole thing. So I wanted to ask if you knew anybody." Damn, I thought I might have actually been getting somewhere. Oh well. This whole thing was frustrating and they were going in circles, then again he wasn't a detective. Never had and probably never would be. His job had always been more straight forward: fight, demolish everything and be done with it. Here, this required a different approach.

The former Dark General went to the couch and sat down, arms crossed. "I'm going to take a light nap, just tap me or yell at me when Latria comes back."

"I could be creative if you want me too." Tica said a bit too happily.

"..On second thought. I'll be fine."

"Suit yourself." Tica shrugged, watching as Cadmus closed his eyes. She turned to Tohr "So in lighter news, how was school? Learn anything neat today?"

"Not really." Tohr responded. He hopped from his seat on the couch and began making his way to the kitchen for a snack. "We learned about the Earth and what it was made of and stuff, but that was boring. We also learned some math, but Latie's already teached me what the teacher talked about."

He was about to open the refrigerator when he stopped short. Looking at Saika's expression, he grew apprehensive. "Um, are you mad?" Tohr took a step back from the fridge, thinking that's what sparked her ill temperament.

Saika blinked, confused, then sighed as she realized the problem. "Ah, no, Tohr. You haven't done anything wrong. My mind just went back to a time I'd rather not remember, is all. Don't worry about it." She forced a smile, then went back to her cleaning, trying to put everything out of her mind.

Leave it to a kid to point something out everyone else doesn't speak about. Tica mused. She figured something had been up with Saika, but she had a feeling it had to do with her past. Tica could understand that part, there were a lot of things in her past, something's she'd like to keep to herself if she could help it.

Saika was cleaning, Cadmus looked more like he was meditating then sleeping even if that wasn't really the case.

Tica was one of those people who didn't like sitting still for long periods of time. She also in most cases, didn't have a huge amount of patience. A office job would have bored her to death almost literally. So she opted to find something to do.

So she got a small pocket book out of her pockets, going to sit down and began reading.(It helped she was wearing more normal clothes instead of her usual get up which would attract attention)

Tohr opened the fridge, procured a peach, and closed it in one swift motion. He scurried back to the livingroom, but stopped when he heard the front door's lock turning. Latria heaved a small sigh as she stepped through the door. She took one step before bracing herself for her daily leg-hug. Tohr flung his arms around her legs, squeezing.

"Latie!" He burried his face in her upper leg. "Hello, Tohr. Please let me walk." She spoke in a warm tone. After the young half-demon released her, Latria regarded everyone else. "Good evening Tica, Cadmus, Miss Saika. Thank you again for your assistance in getting to work." She thanked Saika again. Luckily, she didn't face much reprimand. Her supervisor was fairly understanding, and he had caught wind of the incident later on. Word spreads fast when someone is taken hostage in a busy street.

Saika simply waved off Latria's thanks, not needing it. It wasn't a problem and she actually did like helping people. She continued to clean, seemingly engrossed in it, but was actually now listening closely to anything said. If she was going to be around these people alot from now on, it was best to pay attention.

"Nice seeing you again. Hang on a second.." Tica went over to Cadmus, and flicked him on the forehead. "Hey, she's here. You can wake up."

"..Did you just poke me?"

"You oddly wake up instantly when I do that, I can yell and you won't budge."

Cadmus grunted, but left it alone as he stood up. "Hey Latria. I'm guessing everything went okay despite being late. Anyway, Saika has an idea she'd like to run pass you but its up to you to for the final decision." He was of course referring to the safe house and moving to one of them or even the Demon Realm.

Latria giggled at Tica and Cadmus' interaction. "Oh?" Latria queried, turning back to Saika. "Well, any and all ideas are very much appreciated. I'm not an expert on whatever it is that is happening right now." Tohr scampered back to his seat on the couch and climbed aboard. He simply took a bite out of his peach, waiting for the conversation to play out. He didn't have much say, anyway.

Saika turned her attention to Latria, and sighed slightly. "Well, I feel it's best to move to a safe house until everything is cleared up. If these people have attacked you multiple times, then they know you're around here, and so could easily find out where you live. It's best to hide out. Cadmus mentioned being able to make portals that would allow you and Tohr to return here for work and school if you wanted. Point is, it's not safe here, so I want to take you somewhere that is. My family has safehouses all over the world and on various planets and some realms, including the Demon Realm. So really, anywhere you want is good. Obviously it's up to you whether you take my suggestion, but I think it would be safest."

"You guys have safe houses on other planets somewhere?" Tica asked, a bit confused. "I didn't think earth really had any space travel on its own just yet. I mean, there's Hiiragi Inventions but not sure if they're in the space stuff or not."

Cadmus was about to ask 'what the hell Hiiragi Inventions was' except, maybe, without the hell part because Tohr was there and that would be a bad influence. "Okay. What exactly is Hiiragi Inventions?"

"It's a company." Tica shrugged. "They do a lot of things. Technology, medicine, and some others I'm forgetting on the top of my head. They've been around for a bit now, I think. The eldest sister is suppose to take over the company after her old man."

"I see." He got the gist of it. "Anyway, me and Tica could move you and Tohr to work and school without much problems. Plus, I think it would throw them off. Only thing I'm worried about if they're smart enough to wait it out. They know where Tohr is, and probably where you work too. We need..something to throw them off.."

Latria thought for a moment. She maneuvered her way to the couch and sat next to Tohr. "That does appear to be the best option..." She admitted. "Traveling to a different planet seems a bit much. Perhaps some location in the Demon Realm would suffice." She rubbed Tohr's head and continued. "As long as Tohr can continue his schooling. And I am sure you are happy to stay with your friends instead of moving completely?" Tohr nodded vigorously. Latria felt terrible for moving him yet again. He hated changes in scenery, but this compromise seemed feasible.

Latria sighed. "I apologize for the trouble we are causing. I do not know why anyone would come after either of us. I do have one question, however. If we resume our daily routines as normal, we will be found out. Will they really leave if we simply move?" Tohr didn't like this notion, evident in his expression. He was on board for moving only if he could remain at his school.

Saika shook her head. "No, they won't simply leave. They'd know you might return, so would watch for that. That's why I have another suggestion. If we will be in the Demon Realm, it will be exceedingly difficult for them to get to you and, even if they do, they would have some powerful demons hunting them in turn. So, I propose that if Tohr is going to continue going to school here instead of the Demon Realm, I'll escort him. Using my time manipulation, I can get him to and from the school in an instant, and watch out for him while there just in case."

"Never been to the Demon Realm.." Tica said more to herself. "But she has a point about that, added protection never hurts when it comes to stuff like this. As for watching out..maybe me and Cadmus could work something out. I could be around the general area with you going to work."

"And I could be in the middle, and move to point A and B as need be." Cadmus pointed out. "There's..really only three of us that can fight, that makes six pairs of eyes to try to keep watch on things. We're just going have to try to make this work with the resources we have. With this Demon Realm thing, we at least don't have to act nearly as cautiously since they would be fighting in area on our terms. Not theirs."

"As for the last bit.." Cadmus paused. "It's no trouble, least for me. I don't know you two as long, but you're basically family to me. That's worth it."

Tica watched him for a moment, then grin, it looked decidedly cat-like. "Cadmus, I had no idea you had a sap bone in your body. I'm impressed."

"..Shut up Tica.." It was said with no malice, Cadmus just looked mildly embarrassed. At the most, the two seemed more like bickering siblings. "Anyway, this is the best plan so far."

Tohr seemed happy with this. "I wanna go to my school." Latria smiled resignedly. "I suppose that is settled. We will move, but continue to work here."

She laughed a bit at Cadmus and Tica's exchange. "Thank you very much, Cadmus. You two as well. All of your assistance is very much appreciated."

Tohr grinned wildly and hummed a happy tune. Latria was elated to keep him happy. "Settle down, you. When should we leave?"

Saika seemed to think about it, having not even batted an eye at Tica and Cadmus' exchange. With two rather crazy older sisters, she'd seen and done her fair share of bickering. "As soon as possible would be best. Don't want to give them a chance to try and storm the building or something. So, whatever you need to take care of before hand, do it as soon as you can. We'll leave when you are ready, whether it takes minutes, hours, or days. Preferably not more than two days though."

Cadmus nodded to that. "We can go just about anywhere if we've been there at least once. If me and Tica coordinate everything with Saika we should be able to move everything at most in a few hours depending on what all there is to carry."

He wondered what this Demon Realm would be like. Either way he and Tica were very soon going to find out.

"We should only require a few hours at most." Latria thought aloud. "Tohr, go ahead and ready your things." She said with a pat to Tohr's back.

Tohr hopped of the couch and scampered to his room at the command. Latria stood to gather her belongings as well. "We should both be ready by nightfall. We will do everything we can to ensure an easier process for you all." With that, Latria left to her room to change and pack.

Saika was silent for a moment, then nodded. "Hate to leave things unfinished, so, there." As she said 'there', she suddenly was three feet to the right of where she had been, and the entire apartment was suddenly spotless. Apparently, she'd used her time powers to finish things.

Cadmus blinked, once then twice. Sure she mentioned it but seeing it was something else entirely. If he had that kind of power then he'd never have to worry about cleaning ever again. Might also come in handy for other things. Not that it mattered, it was probably a genetic ability and not something he could learn in anyway.

"If I had that, imagine how easier cooking would be." Tica said with a wistful sigh.

"You'd actually have to be able to cook first though."

"Shut up Cadmus." Tica turned to the vampire. "Did you learn that power? Like some time magic I can learn?"

Cadmus doubted it. Otherwise there would be many people trying to get their hands on her so they could learn. After all, out of all the 'styles' that was probably potentially one of the most powerful if used correctly. You could learn to slow down time, speed yourself up, slow somebody down or ever 'age' or 'de-age' them. If it was some skill that could be improved with all the aspects of 'time' then it would a horribly frightening ability.

After a few minutes Latria appeared from her room. Her stay was brief as she only stepped out to retrieve a few things. Tohr would periodically do the same himself. Only Latria, however, noticed the room's improved cleanliness. She thanked Saika, sure she had a hand in the instantaneous clean-up, and continued to scurry about the house.

Saika grinned a bit, shaking her head. "No, that was all me. Was born with it, though not sure why. Me and my sister's all ahve powers that... don't really fit our race. More than that, we each have a different one. Eirin, for example, harnesses energy from the sun and moon. Also... I know what you are thinking, and all I'm able to do is slip outside of the flow of time, and anything I touch is brought with me."
