Galan caught the hidden extra meaning by her but to his credit he didn't blush much or anything as much as he thought as he played it off. She snapped her fingers a few times, and then pointed at Sumia with a final snap. "Ah, right, it was Sumia. Ahaha, sorry about that, I was half-asleep when Arky told me and silly me didn't get much sleep last night."

Normally, she, Arkay, and Hisako (...and Verina) would all snuggle up next to each other, and without the full group, it always took her a few days to adjust. Sucked, but things were how they were.

"Hisako is napping in the living room, but she's so excited to meet you, so I'm sure she'll sense you and be up in a bit," said Neri quietly, as she entered said living room. There, indeed, was a little Molzon girl curled up on the couch, napping, with Verina laying on the floor next to her. "Sumire is also asleep, but proooobably not going to wake up any time soon."


"Normally, I'd interview you, I guess, but brother's a pretty good judge of character, so I'll skip that, buuut..." she trailed off. "...hm, well, guess we should wait for Hisako to wake up before really getting to know each other, so until then... thirsty?"

There was something a bit different about Arkay's sister upon meeting them for the first time, more a gut feeling she got though Sumia didn't scan them as she thought it be a invasion of privacy. She had felt something of that nature before but she was drawing a blank of where the memory came from. In either case it wasn't really important.

The Rish Sheppard seemed if possible even bigger then it was in the pictures, she was a dog person naturally but she didn't expect for them to instantly warm up to her.

Sumia gave a small smile at the offer. "If its not too much trouble, then yes. Thank you for having me, I'm looking forward to getting to know you and the others." Hisasko of course, yes, but also Sumire as well.

Nerine nodded. "Likewise. Though, Arky sort of did this without telling me, and he knows I don't mind taking care of Hisa--" She paused and sighed. "--no, I know he's just trying to give me more free time. Anyway, I'll be back in a moment."

With that, she left, heading into the kitchen, leaving Sumia to the slow, steady breathing of the half-molzon and risch a short distance away. "Anyway, why don't you tell us a little about yourself, Sumia?"

Meeting Hisasko for the first time was a treat for the young woman, she was more adorable in person then in the pictures; though it wouldn't of course been the first time she had been around a Molzon child face to face. Since retiring from the Sisters Of Grace she had been primarily a care giver to small children and the elderly which gave her a decent sum of experience.

A lot of the children she had taken care of now we're either young adults or in their teens with many of them sending her messages to let her know how they were doing. Carlie had half joke about putting her experience in a story a few times as it would make a interesting one. She wasn't opposed to putting her life story in a autobiography or something of that sort one day however.

"It's nice to meet you Hisasko." Sumia said her smile gaining a bit more warmth. "I hope we can be friends and I'd really like to get to know you all."

Sumia had been taken a bit off guard by the mental intrusion from Hisasko, it was partly expected but jarring it had come from such a young child. Most children at that age struggled to do anything like that, even for a Molzon that wasn't exactly the norm. She could probably count on her hands and fingers of how often it had occured.

It was put into the back burner for more interesting news as she politely accepted the drinks, choosing juice, water was good but the former was divine. At least it was depending on what kind of juice it was, fortunately it was up her alley.

She placed the cup back down at Nerine's prompt. "From what you said, you already know about my former profession of the Sisters Of Grace, but besides that my life has been somewhat tamed." There was some mischievous amusement as if on a inner joke. "Hm. Well, one thing I've been doing is working basically as a nanny slash care giver. I would look after children of all kinds, and older people. It's really fascinating some of the stories they tell if you take the time to listen."

Sumia didn't instantly continue, letting it digest a bit before she went on. "I like to mostly keep my current life simple and drama free since I had enough excitement when I was younger. Let's see..knitting, traveling. I also like reading historical weapons." The later was a work around the fact she really liked guns of different eras and liked seeing and reading up about them. "What about you two?"

Huh, despite the woman's... youthful appearance, she definitely came off as... worldly and well-travelled. Nerine figured that meant that Sumia was quite a bit older than her apparent age, too. Which wasn't really surprising, since she was a bio-droid. She couldn't claim to know everything about 'em, but she did know that they could live for at least two hundred years.

"I didn't know you danced, aunty. I bet you look really pretty when you do it!" interjected Hisako almost immediately. The young girl paused for a moment, then her expression lit up. "Oh, oh, hey, could you teach me? I wanna learn to dance!"

Nerine was silent for a moment, and she shifted uncomfortable. "Uh... maybe when you're older," she finally replied.

"Older? Why? Is it dangerous?"

"No... no, it's... just a dance that's for adults only," replied Nerine, her face beginning to grow red.

Hisako cocked her head again. "...a dance only for grown-ups? Weird. And why are you turning red?"

"I... it's nothing. Now, shouldn't you tell Sumia about what you like to do?"

That seemed to successfully distract--or perhaps refocus--the girl. "Oh right! I like going on adventures with Verina! Even when we're not going on adventures, she and I are always playing together. I also really like other animals, though this place doesn't really have many..."

She stopped for a moment, her gaze drifing to the ceiling as she thought. "...Gymnashtics too! Papa says it's important for a psychic to have a body as shtrong and flexible as their mind, so I've been doing that for a long time!" With surprising agility, she moved onto the top back of the couch, balancing herself on one hand. "My tail makes balancing super-easy!" A moment after, she pushed off and... slowly glided back into a sitting position. It was evident that she could also use telekinesis to a certain extent.

Nerine, her... embarrassment earlier having subsided, chuckled. "Total tomboy, as you can see. The... adventures part might seem worrying, but she never goes too far, and Verina's always right there with her. They're practically joined at the hip. And not a whole lot of people have the guts to mess with a Risch, let alone one protecting a child in its... pack, I guess."

"Mmmhm, Verina's my beshtest friend and she's always looking out for me!" Hisako used her foot to 'pet' the Risch in front of her. "Don't worry, Shumia, I'm sure Verina will be your friend too real quick!"

"And finally, there's Sumire, who... is still sleeping. She's around, usually, but she's kind of a... shut-in, I guess? She does help the police force out with things like murders, though."


"Aunty Shumire can talk to dead people!"

"...yeah. Recently dead people, anyway. She's also an extremely powerful mage... shouldn't be hard to guess what type of mage what with that... whole talking to dead people thing. But don't worry, she's a good person."

"Yep! She helps people go to heaven when they get stuck!"

"Oh, and there's Joseph and Jotaro, who are.. oh, how to put this..." Nerine paused for a moment. "...they're also good people, but they're pretty... wild, and are usually traveling. Adrenline junkies, I guess?"

"They're really strong, but not as strong as papa!" It was quite apparent that Hisako really admired her father.

"And... that's pretty much the cliffnotes for our little family," said Nerine. "We're a pretty tight-knit group... kinda have to be, considering our circumstances." She was, of course, referring to the fact that they weren't native to Meus Carus. All they really had here was each other.

"So... have any family yourself, Sumia?"

Sumia watched the whole back and forth between Nerine and Hisasko with subtle mirth. They reminded her a lot of the family members she had been with in the past, those still here and those who had passed beyond the veil to another world. Hisasko was certainly a lot more active then what Arkay had implied she would be. Of course that was probably in part of normal parental bias that most parents suffered from when having children.

The necromancer part was interesting. Normally there was a lot nfegative press around such things as most who had dabbled into that style of magic weren't the good sort. Never the less, she kept a open mind about things with what she knew, on top of that they weren't native to this universe so by that metric it wouldn't be entirely fair to judge anyway.

Only the last question caused Sumia to miss a beat, but it was subtle. Her smile was still there pleasant as ever but it was the eyes that told a slightly different story. "They aren't here anymore."

Still she didn't want to make them feel guilty, nor did she want to dwell so she pushed onward and added on. "Still I have a lot of people at this point I helped raise I could consider family. Carlie is one of them. I have some pictures."

Reaching into her pocket, she handed them to Nerine. Many of them were of herself and Carlie when she was a small child, and other children of younger age of different races. This did lead to the theory she was notably older then what her apperance would have suggested.

Nerine caught the beat and that subtle look in her eye and felt a pang of guilt well up in her chest. There was no way for to have known, but, still, she should've been more careful. This did, however, give credence to her suspicions that her brother had hired this woman for a third reason.

She knew he had spent the night at her house the night before, and while his empathetic abilities were not the best, between what psychic empathy he did possess and simple observation, he definitely would have picked up on the sense of loss. Maybe he felt that getting out of the house would do her some good?

Hisako, on the other hand, picked up Sumia's reaction in a much more direct manner--through her own psychic empathy. Cocking her head slightly at Sumia's answer about her family, she nonetheless said nothing. Though young, she knew enough not to prod.

When Sumia pulled out her pictures of her extended family, Hisako saddled up beside her aunt. "Oh, oh, I know what she is... she's an Acornian!"

Nerine laughed. "Close, but it's Acorian. Fox... uh, type. Not really sure what the correct term is." Flipping through the pictures, Nerine noted that her charges had been of many difference species. Even, at first glance, a few Molzon... or maybe half-acorians. Regardless, her nii-sama had chosen well. And, now that she thought of it, it might be fun to have another adult to talk to. She handed back the pictures.

"Carlie's the woman Nii-sama's protecting, right? He didn't mention much about her before he left for the interview, other than that he had a 'feeling' he should look into the job," she said. "So, did they end up hitting it off?"

Sumia didn't have empath powers but she did know how to read cues and such of people well, and what little she saw Nerine did feel some guilt. Of course there was nothing to be sorry for which was why she did her best to continue on and deflect from the bump in the conversation. It seemed to work for the most part from what she could see.

"They hit it off very well." Sumia replied. "Right now they're hanging out and getting to know each other as people besides the bodyguard angle. Not sure if anything more will come from it but its possible."

Sumia folded her hands into her lap after placing her cup down. An idle curiousity came to Sumia then as she smiled back at Hsasko. "I'm curious of one thing. Molzon have four gifts to start off with far as powers go. Besides telepathy and telekenisis, do you know what your other two are?" It would also help with not catching herself off guard like before.

Hisako cocked her head a bit. She and papa had talked about her powers, and he had said he wasn't sure whether her powers would work like a Molzon--like Mama's--or like his, or like both together. But she could still answer the question, sort of. "Um, I can feel what people around me are feeling, if they're real close. I don't know what my fourth power is, but I hope it's really cool, like... meat vision!"

This elicited a guffaw from Nerine. "Meat vision? I... don't think psychic powers can do that. And what would you even use it for?"

"Dinner and snacks for Verina!" replied the girl, without a hint of irony.

Nerine's expression blanked for a moment. "I... okay, fair enough." Clearing her throat, she turned to Sumia. "Mmm, as she said, her fourth gift is still dormant. Arky thinks it'll probably be something more specialized than the other three, and will probably at puberty. Or... if she's ever in distress, but no one in this family is going to let that happen." If they could help it, anyway.

Sumia was more then a bit amused by Hisasko's antics and in particular the 'meat vision' comment which more then tickled her. It was an answer that didn't surprise her for that age, having heard similar things being around children long enough. When she was around that age she remembered of the more fantastical wishes and whims she went through. One of which was having a pet Phoenix simply because they looked cool and could keep her warm during winter; an outlandish whim but definitely one a child would think of.

"Of course. If I'm around I'll do whatever in my power to help too." Hisasko on first impression was adorable and if it was within her power she definitely see to it nothing befell her. Such things were up in the air however long term.

"So what are the two brothers of yours like? Arkay had told me they often are out doing their own thing so I likely won't meet them as soon." She was curious overall as she wouldn't likely see them too soon. Sumire was around so there was no need to ask, ditto obviously on Nerine.
