Less Then Nothing(AU, Private)

Lacey nodded softly, tending to Alissa as best she could. After awhile, there was a soft knock, and Lucas walked in hesitantly, carefully wheeling in Andria in her chair. "Uh... hi there..."

"So this is the sister, eh? You look sicker than me, dear..."

Pyira nodded, looking at Lucas. "Nice to meet you. You must be Lacey's brother."

Alissa hadn't said much of anything as Lacey tended to her, wanting to more or less conserve her strength until she was ready to be moved. When the two greeted her, she replied in kind. "..Nice to meet you two. And, I guess I've seen better days.."

Andria simply nodded, while Lucas walked over. "Er, nice to meet you both as well. Lucas Kurzwell... so, what are we doing exactly, Lacey?"

"Well you, mister, are going to carry Alissa here, and we are bringing her to my hospital, so she can get treated."

"I... see... well, not sure what I expected, but guess that makes sense."

Alissa knew this may make things a bit awkward depending of how she was carried since she was a bit on the..gifted side of things if got a ride on them piggy back. That didn't seem as practical given her state, so maybe princess style?

"Um..so..how do you want to do this? I don't want it to be awkward.." Alissa fidged just slightly, Lucas was rather handsome so she was a bit embarrassed by being carried by them.

"Uh... whatever... way is most comfortable for you, I guess...?" He was definitely a bit embarrassed by the situation, and Lacey just rolled her eyes, thumping him on the back of the head.


"Stop being a dork. Just go with... what's it called... princess carry. Or bridal carry, I think it's also called."

"....Right..." Lucas sighed, blushing a bit as he walked over, scratching his cheek. "Uh.... I guess... lay down so I can.... geeze that sounded wrong, sorry..."

"Young man, you aren't very good with women, are you?" Andria's words cut through Lucas like a knife, and his blush worsened.

"Lady, now is not the time..."

Alissa shook her head, moving the covers. "It's all right Lucas, I'm..not really good at these sorts of things either." She could understand being shy with the opposite sex and a bit awkward, she was too even if she had been approached a number of times.

She laid back down. "Ready when you are." Under the blanket she was definitely decently dressed, jeans and a black t shirt, though it was slightly tight and showed her misdriff, not to mention she was on the..gifted side of things.

Lucas glanced away for a moment, definitely blushing deeply as he knelt down and carefully picked Alissa up in his arms. "R-right..." He cleared his throat, holding Alissa securely, and turning toward Lacey. "Er... lead the way..."

Alissa was blushing a bit as well, which was interesting because of her fur. "So is the hospital far away from here..?" She asked, trying to start some conversation of any kind while Lacey lead them to where they needed to go.

Pyria wondered why her sister was blushing briefly but shrugged mentally.

Older people were strange.

Lacey shook her head. "Not too far, no. Only a couple minutes walk from here, I think." As Lacey started to wheel Andria back toward the door, the elderly woman motioned to Pyria.


"Come her, dear. I'm sure you're tired, so come sit in my lap."

"Wish we had a second wheelchair..." Lucas paused after saying that. "...I... I'm not saying you are too heavy! I just wasn't expecting to be carrying anyone, and I'm not... really the athletic type, honestly..."

There was a slight pause, but then Pyria decided it was fine and got into the old woman's lap, seeming to relax.

Alissa giggled a little at Lucas' words. "It's fine. I know its..awkward for both of us. Just, I guess, try not to think too much about it. I don't look it but my kind are stronger physically then humans..just being sick kinda takes away from that.."

Pyria, now relaxed asked Lacey something that had been on her mind. "How long have you been a nurse miss Lacey?"

"Hm? Oh, it's only about a since I completed my schooling for it. That was a... hehe, a tough time, honestly. Not much food on the table, you know? But it was so worth it... I get to help so many people, and take care of my little brother here!"

"Lacey, you don't need to take care of me..."


"Course I do! You can take care of yourself just fine, but I'm the older sister so it's my job, and one I love! So stop bringing it up, dork."

Lucas just grumbled a bit at that.

Pyria, of course had to add her two cents. "Hm. Alissa says the same thing, but we can do it ourselves! We..just.." She paused, trying to figure out her scrambled thoughts. "We just gotta make sure we're responsible."

This got a amused chuckle from Alissa. "Not really the same Pyria, Lucas might be a younger sibling but he's also a young adult."

Lacey couldn't help but giggle at that. Then Andria spoke up. "Well, I can attest that all of you are utterly hopeless without the guidance of my generation."

Alissa didn't take offense to that, instead smiling. "Mhm. Even back where I came from, elders view and experience on things was very much needed . Not sure how much it's the same here. I learned that asking a woman's age in a lot of human cultures is considered rude. Where I'm from, its the opposite because age generally means wisdom. I guess there' a lot of things I need to learn..."

Alissa was slightly surprised at this. "Your medical technology is that advanced? I thought Humans could only live for a hundred, if they were lucky." There was a lot of things she was still learning she didn't know about until recently. If nothing else, it kept her distracted from thinking about the past she didn't want to think about.

"She sounds really important, I guess the chances of meeting them are pretty small. My mom would have liked to meet someone like that.." She trailed off slightly, then shifted gears. "So is there any people like me around here? Maybe not Acorians, but look a bit like me? I haven't seen any.."

Lucas nodded slightly. "They are around, yeah... never really met any, but I have heard about them."

"I had to do some reading for medical purposes, so I can help treat Acorians and such, but I'm not an expert or anything, it's new information, so as a nurse I admit I haven't gotten the chance to look into it too deeply."

"I figured. I mean, its part of your job and if there are more of my people coming here on earth it makes sense you'd have to learn more about us. Same with my little sister's kind." Alissa didn't move around too much, mostly due to being tired and secondly not to make Lucas more uncomfortable then he already was.

Pyria perked up a bit at something. "Oh! I remember now! Didn't the Eldarian princess visit here too?"

"Peach Raslend? Yeah, she visited Earth once or twice I think... everyone adored her, of course." They soon reached the hospital. Lacey explained the situation, and a nurse came to escort Andria to her room, while Lacey helped admit Alissa. It wasn't long before Alissa was in an examination room with a doctor and Lacey, while Pyria and Lucas were left in a waiting room.

When her little sister left, Alissa was a bit nervous as s the two havent been apart since their world had been invaded and torn apart. There was irrational paranoia of them being apart but she forced the ugly thing back down taking a deep breath as she sat down.

Alissa twiddled her thumbs, nervous and unsure what to say. "So..uh..how long does a check up usually take?"

"Depends."

The voice came from a female doctor as she strode into the area. "I apologize for the wait, there has been something that needed my attention. We're going to run some test but it shouldn't take too long hopefully. You may call me Karen dear." She held out a small cup. "Spit in this for me please, this is our first test."

Alissa wasn't sure what they were getting at, but in her current state she couldn't complain and did as asked.

Karen left after that, going into the back before coming out. "All right, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that you're not dying or anything. The bad news you basically have something akin to a very bad flu, but its more restricted to Acorians so we aren't at risk of catching it. You get enough rest, some medicine and a good place to rest and you'll be fine dear."

That sounded good to Alissa, but she then frowned. "..Me and my little sister don't exactly have anywhere to go but we'll figure it out."

Lacey paused for a moment, then chuckled softly. "Well, I know it's probably not ideal, but you two can stay with me an Lucas. It's a three-bedroom house and only two of us live there." Lacey shrugged a bit. "I understand if you wouldn't be comfortable with that though, we just met."

Karen nodded a bit, adjusting her glasses as she briefly wiped them with her shirt. Damned things. "There is also, of course, hotels. We could offer to pay for that temporarily given what was said. Getting a job would be much harder, I assume you perhaps didn't come here of your own will?"

Alissa unconsciously slightly flinched at the question, not her fault just bad memories. "Yes..something happened to our home and we escaped here.." She didn't elaborate, not wanting to talk too much about at the given moment. The wounds were still raw and she had no desire to tread on them right now for as long as she could help it.

Lacey's offer was a generous one, she didn't know how long this hotel would last her for and getting a job would likely be notably trickier. She hated imposing on people, though did she have that many good options right now?

"I would like that." Alissa finally said. "I don't want to over stay my welcome and I promise to pull my weight until I get a job. It's just a hotel seems too risky. All the options are risky, but this seems to be the best one to work out potentially."

Lacey nodded softly. "That's fine, you are free to stay as long as you need. Though until your health improves, you'll just be resting, okay?"
