Personality: Lighthearted and often smiling, this cunning fox adorns a mask based on commonly accepted personalities amongst society; happy-go-lucky. But this isn't to say Kentarō isn't without his depth. Underneath the chipper exterior is a fiery Yokai still yearning to bring mayhem on his enemies and mischief to friends.

Powers: A powerful Kitsune even before meeting Kichibei and the itako Minako, Kentarō is most wildly known for his usage of his fox fire; a blue flame that burns only what the caster wishes, including those of spiritual matter. With age and wisdom, the fire grows stronger. There is also the gift of transfiguration. Shape shifting from a large fox form into a human form with ease. Shunpo is his last ability; moving as effortlessly from place to place like a leaf on the wind. He enjoys using this to taunt others.

Restrictions: With any magic, the flames of Fox fire have a range limited to Kentarō's field of vision. Should he ignite a tree amid a forest however, it can continue to grow like any other fire in the woods. The more fire used during a battle, the more fatigued the kitsune will become until he is unable to move any further. Changing forms will also drain his energy; using fox fire and transfiguration together is usually considered a last ditch effort to defend or escape an enemy. As for shunpo, this too is limited to his field of sight UNLESS tracking specifically by scent. (e.i. he's trying to follow a human wandering the woods, he can continue to shunpo closer but only if he has a blood scent to follow) Using this excessively will also put him out of commission for a few hours.

History: Hyakki Yagyō is a parade of Yōkai that traverse the streets of feudal day Japan that occurs once every year during mid-summer nights. Thousands of Yōkai  attend this festive, including Kentarō and his demon brothers. It was always fascinating to see the human realm this way; caught in the ethereal light of their lanterns. Truly amazing. However, once during this parade, the kitsune left sight of his brothers for merely a moment, captivated by another sight he had never seen before. A human. Standing just out of reach of the lanterns, cloaked in a thin veil of haze. He'd never seen such a thing before. Mortals would often be diverted from walking a certain street when the parade came through, or sometimes even perish from the overwhelming energies. But no, not this one. But soon his wonder diminished and Kentarō pressed on, happily shouting for his brothers to wait. This would not be the last time the kitsune saw this young human nor the curiosity that accompanied his being. Two years passed; it was only days before the parade would take place again and he would once more see the city streets of human civilization. Yet, as he prepared for the occasion, something began to bother Kentarō. A melody. Enchanting as haunting as any lullaby he'd ever heard. But when questioning his fellows whether they heard it too, he was dismayed. No one, not even Seika the Bakeneko, could hear it. It wasn't long before the melody ate away at the kitsune. What was this blasted noise? Finally, only hours before the parade days later, the fox erupted with anger; the already thin veil between his world and the other shattered like glass around him. Cloaked in gnashing blue flames, Kentarō unleashed his agitation upon this new world he had been summoned so forcefully to. An entire forest burned that night, as well as a small fishing village close by. Charred flesh and bone wafted through the midnight breeze. Even after the destruction the fox was still seething with madness. Why was he brought here? From atop a hill, littered with burnt stumps and ash, the fox watched as the glittering lights of the parade fled into the mountains beyond; the sun already rising behind him.

A year passed before a young man, a familiar young man, approached the hill where the kitsune had taken residence. The only human he had seen before his abrupt arrival to this world; an omnyoji named
Tsukahara Kichibei. Kichibei admitted to having seen the fox destroy the village without remorse. It was a frightening display of power. He also added that he allowed a year to pass in order to train himself further, so when he approached the fox with blue fire, he would have the confidence to appeal to the creature. Kentarō initially scoffed at the idea and tried to dismiss the young magic man. But when Kichibei mentioned he knew who had summoned him here and left him stranded, the fox grew curious. Under very strict rules, Kichibei was able to enlist Kentarō as his familiar; the first of many he would encounter.

As mentioned, the boy did in fact know the bastard woman who had made his life miserable. A beautiful woman with a voice like fine silk. Sakubara Minako. Kentarō was in a daze. How could a mortal woman be so enchanting? Yet, whenever they approached her, the fox noticed the way she would initially turn in the wrong direction. She was blind. An itako; a blind woman versed in communicating with gods and demons alike. He had only heard stories of these women and even then, they were all old hags with only a snaggle toothed grin. Kichibei revealed that it was by accident, during her training, Minako had called out to him

(( I'm just going to end here; I've got more I'd like to add but I'm running out of inspiration. This is kind of a long, boring history  ))
