Personality: “Serious” – Rio has a calm and dignified disposition. He often acts as his trainer’s conscience. He prefers to remain outside of his pokeball. Rio has a one-sided rivalry with Pyrrhon, though the Riolu pup usually just humors or ignores the heated Charmeleon.

History: Kyle happened upon Rio’s egg early in his quest. The two share a mutual respect for one another. Strangely, Kyle finds himself being scolded by Rio much more often than the reverse.

Personality: Quirky – Lulu’s bright disposition floods into those around her, whether they want it to or not. While out of her pokeball, she very much enjoys dancing and pestering Rio.

History: Lulu was caught by Kyle shortly after hatching Rio. Her energetic and bubbly nature can sometimes overwhelm her trainer. Her final evolution was an accident; as a Gloom, Lulu danced aimlessly away from Kyle during a rest. She fell and happened to land upon a Sun Stone.

Personality: Gentle – Nina has a gentle, motherly personality. Generally, she is a very loving creature.

History: Nina was caught by Kyle after a terrible lightning storm. He rescued the Dratini from the bad weather by finding shelter in a cave. Afterward, she willingly became a part of his team. Her presence is regarded as a mother figure to the other pokemon, and sometimes Kyle himself. She often wraps herself around him and the other pokemon as a show of affection.

Ability: Blaze – Fire moves increase in power with low health.

Personality: Hardy – Pyrrhon is a strange creature. He is very enduring and can be patient, though his ego can sometimes impede the latter. At times, he can be “show offish around the fairer sex. However, Pyrrhon won’t hesitate to help others in need and is a very reliable comrade. He has a one-sided rivalry with Rio and considers him both his greatest ally and foe.

History: Kyle caught Pyrrhon as a Charmander through having a “Man’s spirit.” The two aided each other in rescuing a clan of Happiny, Chansey and Blissey from a large pack of Mighteyena. Though the odds were stacked against them, they managed to win. Pyrrhon’s name was selected after a grueling guessing game. It seems he wanted something with a powerful ring to it. Generally, he gets along well with Kyle’s other pokemon.
