However, she can be frightening when she is truly upset, being more on the brutal aside. Often passive aggressive and sarcastic to those who genuinely dislikes.

As for purifying it depends on the strength of it, if it surpasses her own strength it won't work. With her energy manipulation, it drains on her physically, but she make different shapes and sizes of it.

History:
Poitreene was 'born' sometime in the past as a result of people's belief, not fully forming into a star went nova and the excess energy formed her physical form. For a while, she simply floated, being lonely out in space for a while. Eventually, things started to get to her so she put herself in a 'stasis' like sleep until she found something.
The world she stumbled upon during the sleep was lifeless at first, but soon began to flourish when the Elves from their own world planted a World Tree. It was these events that caused Poitreene to awaken and interact with the world. Other races began to form, namely the humans and later on, demon races. There was also angels, though they weren't well known(real ones that is)
Poitreene adopted two half-demon children as her family, and looked out for them and others. That was until tragedy struck, and they were killed for what they were. This was the cause of her descent into insanity where she split part of the world to become Paprica, in a misguided attempt to prevent something like that from happening to other people.
Over the years, things went unopposed. That was until a young man named Lloyd and his friends managed to stop a few thousand year old plot in the making within a much shorter time period. Poitreene had learned 'Nizon', someone who worked for her had set things up and that she had been played like a puppet. Rage at what he had done and being tricked lead to her brutally killing him.
At first content to just fade away, she was talked into staying. Now she simply does the best she can.
Update: It's been a number of years since the story of Catheria, and since then she has grown much stronger along with balancing her new responsibilities.
