General Description: Wyos Xdaak are a rare, isolated race, found almost exclusively in their native land. They are a very strange race, loving to fight, to draw blood; yet killing remains a crime, and attacking another person without provocation or first issuing a challenge is also a crime. They are peaceful in their violence. They worship Vashka, 'Goddess of the Flame', and see their Queen's adopted daughter, Keristrasza, as a guardian sent to them by Vashka.

Home Lands: The 'Bleeding Plains' is where the Wyos Xdaak originated from, and still live to this day. It is a strange, 'lost' land in the middle of the Abyssal Sea. A large volcano, jutting out of the sea, is the 'shell' of this land. Long since going 'dormant', a strange phenomenon has occurred. The inside of the volcano has become a bowl of sorts, that is 264,703 square miles in area, roughly the size of the Earth state of Texas, and set low, the rim of the volcano forming a barrier-like mountain range that reaches almost five miles above sea-level, and three miles above the land of the 'Bleeding Plains.'
The actual land is a lush grassland, dotted with river and lakes of fresh water, but also of lava, that for some reason, never affects the surrounding area in a negative way. The Wyos Xdaak believe it is the protection of Vashka. A thick, perpetual mist hangs over the volcano, hiding the land entirely from sight, and blocking out the sun, resulting in dim, foggy days, and even darker nights.
The land belongs mostly to the Wyos Xdaak, with their capital city of Qaldkxdaak, or 'Worldblood', and many smaller towns and villages scattered about the land. However, they share the land with creatures that are rarely encountered elsewhere. Feral dragons, phoenix's, chimera's, and other 'mythical' creatures, as well as prehistoric creatures such as the dinosaurs, which have been mutated in ways by the demonic energy of the realm.
There are hazards to keep in mind. The air always has traces of volcanic ash and various fumes in it. While the Wyos Xdaak and native creatures have adapted, outsiders who stay too long will have their throat and lungs damaged by the air, developing what the Wyos Xdaak call Lyk Xlyosw, or 'Red Breath', in which one will experience chest pains and cough up blood. It is not life threatening in most cases, normally only a painful inconvenience, but can sometimes be more serious.
Most outsiders who end up in this land, do so purely by accident, somehow finding the secret entrance from the outside. Those who know how to get there, it's usually because they've been there before.

Personality: The Wyos Xdaak are wary of strangers at first, but are generally quick to open up and warm to people. They are a very friendly, honest people, though very competitive, and like to play rough, solving most disputes, contests, or arguments with a friendly, or not-so-friendly, fight. Most, if not all, are very respectful toward their elders, and those in authority, and especially toward their goddess, Vashka. It is considered rude in their culture to not give aid to others in need, whether asked or not, and ruder still to refuse aid that is offered.
Children are highly valued, and are looked after by the entire community; to cause harm, or allow harm to be caused to a child, is considered a serious crime. Those who go above and beyond what is required of them in order to protect others, are treated as heroes, celebrated with feasts or even festivals that can often last entire days or more.

Physical Description: The Wyos Xdaak all have various shades of red-skin, but usually a deep red, and most have light colored hair, horns, and on rare occasions, wings. Most have yellow, green, or yellow-green eyes, with varied shades. There are exceptions, however.

Life-Span: They typically live between 1,600 and 2,000 years, though some have been known to live nearly 3,000 years before.

Name: Most tend to have names ending in 'a', 'ai', or 'ali', and/or including 'y' or 'v' in the name; most are short. Examples: Aska, Kyrai, Avali, Ryva, Krai, Varka. Last names have a more elven feel, such as the ruling family's surname of 'Lithvir'.

Relations: Typically, Wyos Xdaak get along well with other races, though are distrustful at first. They open up quickly when they feel the other is not a threat. They still keep their sacred homeland secret, however.

Natural Power Set:
(EX) Fire/Heat/Cold/Lava Resistant. Wyos Xdaak are completely immune to anything other than extremely high-heat, enchanted fire, are unaffected by temperature, and can survive submerged in lava for several minutes.
(EX) Fire Manipulation. Wyos Xdaak have low-grade fire manipulation, being able to use it practically, and to a degree for combat, but at the most is forming small amounts of it. Their specility is making a small amount of fire impossibly hot, being able to make blue flames from a young age, and black during adulthood. THose who really focus on developing their power can make white flames, capable of melting most nearby metal, and of completely incinerating a body if given the chance.
(EX) Wyos Xdaak have enhanced physical stats. Their base strength is half a ton roughly, as an adult. They can fight for about one hour and durability is mostly blunt damage. They are fast enough to react and catch arrows. They do have the ability to get stronger by fighting or training.
(EX) Temperature Control. Wyos Xdaak can alter the temperature of most things at will by giving or taking away heat. In this manner, they could feasibly cause either heat exhaustion or hypothermia by altering something, or someone's, body temperature. They can also, at seeming will, bring anything with a liquid form to a boil, or reduce it to that liquid form, and vice versa. For example, they can melt ice, turn metal to it's molten form, freeze water, cool molten steel back to a solid state, or, as they often do, boil their own blood, or the blood of others, as a means of self-defense or an attack. However, boiling the blood of another is beyond the capabilities of all but the strongest Wyos Xdaak, as well as being forbidden except under the most dire of situations, since it is viewed as torture and 'unsporting'. Boiling their own blood to make it like an acid, however, is an acceptable tactic. Freezing the blood to slow the bleeding of a wound is also done.
(EX) All Wyos Xdaak have exceptionally keen senses, and can see perfectly in the dark. Sudden, bright lights can temporarily blind them, and direct sunlight tires them; hurting their eyes. Their sensory nerves are particularly sensative; they feel things in more detail, their sense of touch being very sharp. On the plus side, they are very sensative to changes in the air and subtle movements, as well as sensations such as pleasure. On the negative, they are also more vulnerable to the sense of pain, and can be distracted by harmless movements in a dire situation.
