Personality: Malech prefers the alias or nickname “Grave.” He lets those truly close to him use his real name, there are none left who know it. Grave is typically quiet and speaks through his actions, unless driven to speak. He shows little emotion, because he doesn’t feel much anymore. Following a strict set of laws, he does what he needs to in order to survive. Occasionally, he will let others become close, but this usually ends in disaster or betrayal.

He is STRICTLY a pacifist, unless one of his rules is broken. On multiple occasions, he has taken abuse and beatings to maintain his rules’ order.

Restrictions: He can fight for three days (full force) before getting tired, durability is enhanced. Soul Energy that is depleted can be absorbed or regained (much slower pace) through rest. Weak against divine magic.

Grave’s soul cannot be absorbed, stolen or controlled. He can be killed normally; soul attacks can be blocked/guarded against. Grave's soul can be affected by other soul attacks.

Grave's Durability and Stamina stats decrease along with heavy Soul Energy consumption.

Grave has a strict code of ethics that he follows:
1. Fight not for pride or avarice. Fight to preserve yourself or to protect others.
2. Regard others as equals. No race or gender is above you, nor are you any greater.
3. Slavery and torture are inglorious. Kill or release defeated foes. Stand not for slavery.

Weapons and Precious Items: Grave carries a black-bladed katana; a ‘trophy’ of sorts. The blade is unbreakable, but has the same cutting power as a normal sword. Otherwise, he uses his body and soul force as a weapon.

Special Moves:

Dark Force: Manifest soul energy through force. Can be used to push persons or objects, erect barriers, or change direction swiftly in midair.

Chaotic Spike: Able to release soul energy in the form of blades, spikes and claws from Grave’s body.

Soul Rend: Passes soul energy through his sword, making it ethereal. It passes through his targets causing no physical damage, but damaging their energy directly (mana, chakra, ki, etc.) Not an insta-kill; damage is comparable to cutting with a normal sword and
accumulates over time.

Devour: Able to absorb the souls of deceased foes. Replenishes soul energy.

Blend: Able to hide the user’s presence.

Super Moves

Cloak of the Wretched: Grave envelops his entire form in dark soul force. Speed, strength and destructive force drastically increase. This mode depletes his soul energy, leaving him vulnerable after reversion. It may not be used at will, and activates automatically if he is near death (heavy damage, but still has soul energy). Grave loses all rational thought in this mode and will not revert until he or his foe perishes.

History: Grave spent the better part of his childhood traveling with his father, Thamus. He spent his time teaching Grave how to survive; his people were few and far between. Soul Demons were a dying breed, due to their avarice and desire for immortality. Grave was taught that life was to be earned and lived to the best of his ability. His father taught him a strict set of rules to live life by to ensure survival. The two separated when Grave turned 25.

At his 100^th birthday Grave located his father, only to find his mind rotten to the core. Thamus had become corrupted during their separation, and was attacking other Soul Demons. Grave killed his father and absorbed him to spare his soul from damnation. Grave took his father’s sword and carries it to this day as a reminder of his failure to save his father. He now wanders his world observing its splendor and plight for centuries to come.
