Alus Senate: The Alus South Senate is just one of the few in place. There are a total of four(One for each direcion I.E. South, North, East, and West). Each one spelializes in certain areas of the political process, the South for example in public relation, trade, exploration. All of these Senate's political party have a leader who acts as the main voice of each. They have limited political powers and need permission from the middle(which has final say) for big propositions that can have drastic effects, good or ill of it's citzens. The South Senate is currently lead by Akina Rosemand
The Space Port is the first stop for newcomers, and its importance is more then one may think. It's not located on Alus exactly, rather its close by the planet itself in space. The port itself is large enough to support a solid group of people, and nearby is a very small city as temporary home for immigrants if they can't be placed right away. It's supported by a A.G.G.(Artifical Gravity Generator) and A.A.G.(Artifical Atmosphere Generator) as well as multiple other things. It's said the reason it was decided to be placed in space was to also help with keeping certain people out if they prove hostile. The Space Port has a Universal Langauge Translator built in, only in the port itself, but not the city located nearby.
Sanctuary is the name of one of the oldest libaries on Alus soil. What makes it unique is not only the size, but the sheer valume of information that seems to come on a monthly basis from all over the universe, or some cases, other realms. The secrect of its ability to store such massive amounts of information is the newer technology to store things into 'Subspace'. A drawback would probably be the fact is it will take you a while to find what exactly your looking for without running into other useful things along the way(Or getting lost inside the first time). It's owner is a odd one and has the goal to gather as many books in one place as possible before they pass on so people can better reach their goals; whatever they may be. Oddly or not, they aren't Alusarian--infact no one knows their race or even how old they are.
Madu City is one of the most well-known results of the Alus' earlier Universal foreign interaction. Roughly a few thousand years ago, Alus found themselves in conflict with highly advanced super A.I. that was capable of adapting quickly to its opponents(Later to be known as Adam). It created things to serve it with the sole purpose of countering its enemies and by time it was discovered, it was almost too late. Victory had come at a great cost and along the way planets had fallen and entire sentient species had been wiped out or close to it. A race known as 'Angels' were among one of those species and Madu was created as a sanctuary for them, in a small way to recreate a feel of their old home that had been lost. In the present many come to Mardu simply to visit to see the city in the sky. Madu is actually a Egyptian word instead of Angelic and it means 'Of the people'.
The Mana Orbs have been around for countless years. They are said to be relics left behind by the Nalga; the same race that created Alusarian's many years ago before vanishing completely. These 'Orbs' are pure, unharnessed energy. Each of these have the ability to temporary increase someone's natural powers and abilties at least four times their normal amount; for a short time anyway.
Truthly, the Mana Orbs are pale shadows compared to their old selves. It's said the old ones increased one's natural abilties dramatically or had the ability to 'Unlock' the hidden potential of certain inviduals. Fourtnately or unfournately, none of the current ones that survive to this age work that way. Even still, they are very rare are often sought out be treasure hunters and the like because they are worth a lot of money(or trade) if you know the right people.
