History: Shizuka was born to two survivors of a village in which elves and fox demons had interbred. Her parents weren't particularly notable, though they did raise her with love and kindness, as one would expect of those with fox demon blood. Noticing that she had a particular talent for artistic pursuits, her parents somehow managed to get her an apprenticeship with Societte, a fox demoness of great stature, both as a warrior and as a dancer.
Under Societte's careful tutelage, Shizuka's skills in dance--as well as related skills--blossomed, and she quickly gained a reputation as a skillful dancer and singer, even at a very young age. Beyond that, she grew quite close with Societte and her family, considering them to almost be a second family.
This support structure would prove vital in her mid-teens, when her parents both passed away. While she did bury her in her artistic practice to an extent, it was ultimately her 'second family' that allowed her to pull through.
Now, years later, she's taken a job in the Coiled Lotus, entertaining guest with her dancing, singing, music, and, yes, even her body. The work's fun, the pay's good (not that she particularly needs or cares for money), and her co-workers are a delight. And, in some small way, it allows her, a weak one-tailed fox, to have some level of contact with the outside world without exposing her to the dangers of siad world. A win-win situation, by any measure.
