| Vehicle Name: RS3.R (Recon Support Type 3, Regional), aka Razor, aka, Bic.Faction: Patrian Military.Height: 1.5m / 5'Length: 4.5m / 15'Physical Appearance: Weight: 1,800kg / 4,000lbsPower Systems: Micro-Fusion Grav Train, Negotis Heavy Industries (NHI)Type: Light recon/infantry transport, disposable.Abilities: Micro-Fusion Grav Train can be self-destructed manually or remotely if vehicles are to be abandoned.Speed: 160kph / 100 mph under ideal surface conditions.Defensive Systems: Roll cage. Passive stealth paneling, digital pattern camouflage. Can be mounted with up-armored plates for high-risk missions, but these greatly reduce the maximum speed and maneuverability rating.Crew: 1 driver, 2 gunners, plus 5 passengers.Levels: None.Equipment: Auto-scrubbing/recycling air supply, able to sustain 8 passengers 80+ hours.Electric winch.Plasma Cutter with 25m / 80' cable. Detachable (weighs 30kgs / 66lbs) with 10 hour battery life. Can cut through 8cm / 3" armour plate in seconds.Laser-radio system and receiver array, capable of reaching high-orbit craft or satellites.GPS system and triangulation/landmark mapping system.Blast-resistant solid-core tires.Modular system allows for fully-enclosed passenger compartment, up-armor plates. Also allows for easy cannibalization of other RS3.Rs.Cargo Hold: Bustle bins, fixed straps, mounting brackets.Weapon Systems: Roof turret hardpoint, 'shotgun' seat pintle mount. Mounted weapon systems are easily removable and used by dismounted infantry.Maximum Effective Range: With the NHI power system, the RS3.R is capable of operating for weeks without need for refueling or maintenance, in ideal conditions.Rate Of Fire: Dependent on support weapons mounted in the turret/pintle.Payload: Dependent on support weapons.History: The RS3.R's original design was used as a civilian exploration vehicle, especially for smaller colonies or research stations. With the emergence of the machine fleet, it was quickly re-purposed and saw many design variants that lead to the most successful version. It's light weight and compact size lent it quite well to the need of quickly inserted infantry teams, who could approach besieged colonies or facilities over the surface without providing obvious targets for orbital strikes by the machine fleet. Coupled with it's relatively low construction cost and ability for quick manufacturing, the RS3.R was deemed a disposable asset. It did not take long for the slang name to switch from 'razor' to 'Bic', in reference to disposable razors of the same name. The Bic is not meant as a front-line combat vehicle, but rather as a means of rapidly deploying infantry in low-threat or high-stealth scenarios. While some infantry-portable weapon systems are more then capable of taking on vehicles that far outclass the Bic, the open top format of the Bic means it provides little to no protection to the passengers. | |
