History: Quentin served four years with the British military before taking a commission with the Foreign Legion, where he spent another five years as an infantry officer. He saw many over-seas deployments with both militaries, mostly in Africa. In the aftermath of the last war with the Abyss, qualified and experienced officers and NCMs were highly sought after by UN OMLT teams (Operational Mentor and Liaison Teams) who would be embedded with third-world country militaries to oversee training of their military forces. Much of his time with the French Foreign Legion was spent in such a role.
It was the Algeria Incident that saw him picked up Nobus. While working with the Algerian military, Lt McCullom and a few other Legionnaires were attached to a platoon of Algerian troops undergoing a long range patrol in the southern half of the country. A priority order came in when it was realized that all contact had been lost with a small town and a few villages in the region, and the platoon was redirected from their intended patrol route to investigate.
Their investigation quickly bore fruit; despite modern technology to prevent or track incursions across dimensional barriers, a pan-dimensional parasite had found it's way into the isolated region. Humans and large domestic animals were used to host the parasites, which would then 'hatch' and quickly grow into very large spider-like creatures. A series of unfortunately timed problems had left the area without contact with the rest of the world, allowing the parasites to rip through the local population unchecked, until the Algerian platoon and it's Legionnaire attachment arrived.
Like a bad movie, the platoon lost their radio and Satellite phones in the initial ambush, and the survivors fought a contracted running battle. The exact events of the Algerian Incident are classified, but the end result was that the entire Algerian platoon and most of the Legion advisors were killed before reinforcements could arrive to finish the clean up, including a team from Nobus.
Lt Quentin was taken on for his natural talent and now wealth of field experience, and after two years serving in a standard team, he found himself transferred to P.I.B, and tasked with investigating low-threat anomalies, to assess if full Nobus attention is required.
