History: Max was a good soldier he paid his dues to fight for his country. He was a Lieutenant with his boat crew and specialized in sabotage and espionage. When he was honorably discharged from service he joined the Chicago Police. From there he climbed the ranks to detective lieutenant of homicide. His wife just had a little girl and he was finding his groove.
That's when it happened. Catherine's car went off the road and collided with an 18 wheeler. Olivia never made it home. Catherine was in the hospital. She had lost a lot of blood. They patched her up but she wasn't getting any better. By the time Max had gotten to the hospital she was in so much pain he didn't know what to do. Finally after 37 hours of agony. She was finally released.
It wasn't until after the funeral that he was informed as to the cause of her death. It wasn't due to injury. It was a simple clerical error. She was given the wrong type of blood. Not only that but they kept pumping it into her. The final compound that contributed to her death was the blood was infected with Hepatitis B.
It was completely senseless. Then Max received a report on the accident. The cause of her crash was the break line had been cut. Someone wanted her dead but it was his car her's was in the shop. This sent Max into a deep depression. For a long time he just climbed into a bottle and stayed there. He lost his job as a police detective (He was put on indefinite leave.)
Some time later he discovered (Through many many different sources) that it was a man named Rudy Cazarr that was responsible for the break line. He had no proof and couldn't find him. So he became a privet detective in the hopes of one day finding the man who murdered his wife and daughter. With the money he had won in a lawsuit with the hospital he set up two offices. One in Chicago and one in Tokyo. He used the Tokyo office when he needed to get away from Chicago and it was one of Catherine's favorite places.
So the search for revenge continues.
