History: Lug-Nut was created to aid in the Maverick Hunter War that took place 60 years ago. The Rebirth of Dr. Wiley caused reploids of all kinds to turn on humans and thus Doppler Town was the battlefield. For 10 long years Lug-Nut Fought along side other more famous reploids like Mega Man X, Zero, Saber, Signas and Axle. In the end, Doppler Town was destroyed. Countless reploid lives extinguished.
It as time to rebuild. When the war was over he no longer had a purpose. So he wandered the globe. 6 months after the war ended he found a reploid called Desperado. The two became fast friends and Lug-Nut would help his new friend seek his revenge.
In a town called New Tombstone he and some others found a small gang calling them selves the New Cowboys. There was a gun fight but it didn't last long. After that escapade he traveled the globe in search of the Maverick called The Preacher. 40 years since the shoot out at the O.K. Corral he received a report from one of his former comrades. Saber informed him that the Desperado was well and in recovery. He also told him that the Maverick named The Preacher was retired.
A year later Lug-Nut was approached by Saber. He was asked to join his elite team of Maverick Hunters called the Special Tactics And Rescue Squad. Also called S.T.A.R.S. Or unit S. He accepted and was refitted with the latest in armor technology and weaponry. Lug-Nut felt almost complete. He asked if his sister could join. After a testing period and interview Junction joined the unit. That was when the Phantom War started.
This was literally hell on earth. Creatures from the newly dubbed Phantom Zone came pouring through rifts in reality. Human Law enforcement and Military coupled with with the Maverick Hunter Threat Response Force engaged this new threat. A thick mist covered the warehouse district in a matter of minutes. The thick mist made it difficult to see more than a foot in front of you. Shadows moved in the darkness and both human and reploid screams could be heard.
Lug-Nut had been separated from the rest of his team. He was the slowest because of all the hardware he carried. Suddenly something struck him in the back. It didn't do much damage beyond scratching his paint however by the time he turned to see what it was it had retreated back into the mist. He didn't dare fire off a shot for fear of hitting one of his team mates. Or worse a human. Then he had a thought and turned his Gatling gun to the ground. He fired it off exhausting one whole ammo drum.
This heated the air around him and burned away the some of the mist. There he found a dead human body and a live one over it. She had tripped over him in the mist. Lug-Nut also saw something else. It was a reploid clad in black armor. On it's shoulders were skulls with glowing yellow eyes. The reploid turned towards Lug-Nut and He was shocked by what he saw. The helmet of the black clad reploid was empty except for smokey darkness. As Lug-Nut took aim the creature dashed forward its arm turning into a long wicked blade. His weapon locked on and then it moved quickly to its left. Lug-Nut fired just as the creature swung its weapon at the human. She was cut in two as the round hit the creature in the head decapitating it.
The creature didn't fall though. It turned its body towards Lug-Nut and stalked closer to him as the mist closed in again. Lug-Nut dropped the Shot Cannon and his right shoulder rotated. The Boom Gun came down and his foot pylons drove into the ground. He fired off a shot that obliterated the torso of the creature. The mist cleared a little and he watched as the remains evaporated.
Suddenly as soon as it began the mist cleared and the enemy was gone. Saber, Zero and X took count. Several Human's and Hunters were missing in action. Including Saber's sister Blade.
Over the next few months there were several incursions by the enemy. Signas had surmised that he was preparing for his major assault on the city. The enemy was assessing troop strength and taking officers in order to learn about any weakness.
In one such instance Saber had followed a retreating Phantom Soldier back to it's realm. Weeks later he brought his sister back. After she recovered while not quite the same she was fit for duty. It was then that all hell broke loose. Mutilator was attacking civilians, Jeremiah was attacking the abandoned labs and the mist had returned to the downtown district. War was upon them.
