Physical Description:
(Human Form): Tall, slender, and tan. Grey eyes that convey centuries of wisdom and experience. No matter what the circumstance, there will always be a tattoo of a vicious black dragon winding it's way along her left arm from just below the shoulder to her wrist. Long, black hair that always has a healthy shine in the light.
(Dragon Form): Approximately 35 feet long (As long and as tall as a charter bus) with black scales that shine faintly blue in the light. Her wingspan is about 87 feet however the wings can retract and be held tightly to the body if necessary. The spines around her head are stiff but not sharp, the ones along her back are the same and may be held tightly to the back; a rider may be able to sit on the spines between the wings up to the head depending on the size and weight. Her scales are tough however scuffing may occur. The tail is one of the strongest parts of her body as she needs it to balance and steer while in flight, this being so, the tail can also be used as a whip. Claws and teeth are large and sharp, teeth carry no venom however.

(Human):
She has the endurance and speed of an olympic runner, thanks to her dragon-like organs inside her body. Her strength enables her to lift so much as a pallet of bricks. Unlike her true form, her human form is light and able to travel swiftly as well as quietly. Hunting skills known as a dragon are adaptable in her human form and, thanks to her speed, she can keep up with a deer. To enable her to do so, her bones are strong like that of her dragon form and she can recover easily from jumping off high ledges.
(Dragon):
Although large and bulky, she can move quick like a bear. Also has the swiftness of a snake and can strike quickly and efficiently. Able to dive, twist, loop and perform many aerial techniques in order to confuse or escape predators. As well as dive bomb enemies by pulling her wings and spines close to her body before releasing the trademark shot of blue flame bullets; never missing. She can crush small boulders with her teeth and tear down fully grown trees with her claws and wings. Doesn't have a problem with swimming but of course she can't breathe under water.

Abilities:
(Human): Thanks to her true dragon form, her human skin is less likely to be cut. Small things like paper cuts or scrapes won't mar her skin. Anything greater like swords can also be protected against by exposing her dragon scales (shrunk to size) from deep under her skin to keep any blade from piercing. Also able to shift her human hands and feet into claws or extend her wings as well as allow her human teeth to grow sharp without cutting her gums. This gives her a sort of 'half' form between human and dragon, better for fighting in small areas.
(Dragon): With a large wing-to-body ratio and powerful strength, she is capable of vertical takeoff. Using a flame specially made from the gasses in her stomach that consist of acetylene and oxygen, this dragon's shot explodes the target on impact. Smaller blue flames are possible, but only as a small jet. For fighting, the bullet-like flames are better as it is her innate ability to shoot and never miss.
Anti-magic: In both forms, magic attacks don't work on her such as lightning strike or weapons imbued with magic. In the same sense, magic that can heal or assist also does not work.

Personality: Has a knack for getting herself into trouble despite her lofty title of dragon guard. If curiosity killed the cat, it's a good thing this one's a dragon. She loves learning new things and new experiences. Despite all the hardships shes dealt with on Aenerald, Surai always has a positive, if not enlightening, outlook on everything. It's one of the reasons many dragons respect and resent her; because she can make the best of things and continue to be so happy even though she's lost so much. Many envy her personality, considering where they're from.

(Human):
Dragon Skin: When in a fight, she can concentrate her black scales to form atop her skin and protect her from harm. These scales, like when she's a dragon, will keep even the sharpest blade from penetrating. Scales can only be concentrated one area at a time, however if claws/talons are extended she can still cover other areas such as her stomach, chest, ect.
Armored Carapace (special technique): This special armor grows from the very scales and spines of her true form. Only when preparing for a great battle such as joining an army or waging war in human form is this available. The armor is basically her dragon scales acting as a second skin but because they are a part of her they are still light and allow her to maneuver easily; unlike real armor. The tail, and sometimes the wings, are also extended at this time. Instead of having claws, her arms are covered with her armor-like skin and a sword consisting of one of her teeth can be summoned at this time. Strangely enough, vital parts such as her head, stomach, back, and thigh are left unprotected but it is usually not an issue as she moves quickly and deadly to not need to worry. All armor is stationary, unlike in Dragon Skin, and can be 'knocked off' if bashed with a heavy duty weapon; i.e. hammer-like objects. The skin retracts and she is left with human skin again.
Fire Breath: Breathing flame is possible but takes an excessive amount of oxygen, which she can store in her large lungs, but it takes awhile to breathe such a big flame. Smaller flames are easier, but for either sort of attack, she must have a high carbon-based diet in order to produce the same flame as her dragon counterpart.
(Dragon):
Blue Flame: A combination of acetylene and oxygen created by the gasses stored in her stomach, this flame can erupt quickly. Sometimes in rapid fire it breath is taken in sudden gasps.

Dragon Skin: Her dragon scales can only cover one vital area at a time, though sometimes growing larger in some areas compared to others. This doesn't mean her skin is impervious, she only calls upon her own scales when she sees an attack coming and must predict where the opponent will strike. When protecting her stomach, it covers her abdomen down to the pelvis. Or when covering her thigh, depending on where she expects the attack, her dragon scales can only cover the top or backside. In terms of heavy, blunt objects, she can still be brutalized. Although its tough to break her dragon-strong bones, her organs are still delicate. Without a complete covering of dragon scales along with the thickness of muscle tissue, they can be damaged.
Armored Carapace: As stated above, this is only available if time has been given to properly prepare. Both mental and physical levels must be at a high level in order to create this intricate armor. The maximum time it takes to create is three days, minimum amount of time to date is 24 hours. There have been some dragons who've attempted to prepare in less time however flaws are more prone throughout the armor.
Fire Breath: This breath can sometimes emit larger quantities of flame in jets than her dragon form, however she must have a healthy diet.
-Since she performs better athletically than the average human she needs to eat well, because she's a dragon, she needs to eat even more to retain the proper calorie intake in order to stay healthy. Besides eating grains such as bread or cereal to enable her to breathe fire, she also requires meat to keep her muscles strong. Since she has a human form she can eat vegetables to balance her consumption and substitute for meat or grain when she can't get a hold of it.
(Dragon): For the most part she's an original dragon. Weapons can't cut or crush her. In this form the only vital part is the chest and stomach. On rare occasions, these sensitive areas may be protected by sliding over gems and jewels. When at rest such as in a cave, dragons secrete a slippery fluid (such as what snakes have on their underbellies) that allows these precious jewels to stick to them. When dragons are active however, the secretion stops and the gems fall off. But for the most part and active dragon is hunting and can always fight and defend itself. Its when in the comfort of it's domain that this happens; usually as a safeguard for when she's resting.

History:
"The unholy offspring of lightning and Death itself."
Part of that is true. When she was born she awoke alone, a young dragon, strong enough to live a solitary life. In the initial phase, a dragon is only in their feral form and, usually after breeding and raising offspring, they develop a human form as well. During her phase, Surai had one mate and a single child but both perished during their migration season; when she was about 75 years old. She went into mourning and, around her 105th year, she developed a human form. While it is possible for them to continue to breed, due to the circumstances of her world, once a dragon develops their human form they no longer have the desire to continue to populate. This is most likely because of how their body's mass shifts from form to form, making it difficult for potential offspring to develop. After roaming for many years and finding dragons few and far between, Surai decided to seek out greater colonies. These, she found, were even more sparse. The dragon cities consisted of dragons who took to human form and lived the way humans did. Dragon flocks that were still around were usually under attack because of their obvious value in parts such as blood, wings, and teeth. She assumed the position of guard and found pride in what she did. Eventually initiated as one of the Empress's guard. For the most part she stays with the flocks and sees them migrate safely to their breeding grounds or seasonally when the weather is unsuitable for them.
Because of her diligence in her work and significance as one of the last Nightfuries, Surai will sometimes be accompanied by other dragons to ensure her safety as well as the flocks'. Most dragons who choose to remain in their true forms recognize her and have heard of her. The strongest of them act as her back up when things get rough.
