| Character Name: Tora Yuri ---- Alias: "Tiger Lily" ------ Apparent Age: 27 ------ Origin: Portugal, 1567 A.D. ------ Race: Vampire -------- Height: 5'8 ---- Weight: 110 lbs. ------- Gender: Female -------- Physical Description: Pale skin, a light build; a body made for dancing. Soft, subtle blonde hair and dark, almost black eyes, taking after her Japanese mother. Long, slender fingers adept at embroidery as well as calligraphy. Elegant and serene, like a doll, her face bears little expression when in the presence of others. ----------------- Known Relatives: None, deceased. ------------- Religion: None, she lets her memories and experience dictate what is right and wrong. --------- Skills: - Spoiler:
The most notable of her skills is the ability to wield any arsenal of daggers or short-handed blades or swords. With impeccable aim and accuracy, her chances of hitting her mark are nearly 10/10. She can also use any sort of japanese weapon such as the katana, shrunken, and tanto.
-------------- Abilities: - Spoiler:
Enhanced senses: sight and hearing are intensified due to her vampiric nature.
Beast Tamer: With centuries of skill and patience instilled into her and the ability to read others well, the vampire has gained the ability to tame and control feral animals for short amounts of time. While they cannot hurt her, because what she is, she doesn't keep them for long in fear of accidentally feeding on them. Her favorite animal to keep her company is, of course, the Tiger.
Moonlight: Just as the sunlight harms her during the day, the moon empowers her at night. For Tora, the moon only strengthens her slightly, its real power is transforming her into a beautiful creature. When the moon shines upon her form, her appearance is even more stunning; a defense mechanism in the vampire body to make her more appealing than any other human woman. The ability cannot be triggered at will, it is innate. Very few men can resist this allure, especially in close proximity; the only way to stop it is to hide from the moonlight just as she does from the sun. The most notable change when this happens is the luster of the skin and hair, shine to the eyes, and flawless features.
-------- Alignment: Neutral-good ------------------------------ Personality: Of the three vampires, Tora is the one most comfortable about being what she is. More of a guide, or mother than anything else, she has been undead the longest and therefore has a broader view on life. Very accepting and patient, as well as skilled at protecting those she cares about, this vampire would kill to protect her own and believes in solving matters by speaking rather than force. ------------ Powers: Speed/reflexes: Being a vampire, she is extremely fast and agile and her recovery rate is phenomenal. Her observation skill is to the finest detail. Experience in battle when she became a newborn, as well as throughout time, has honed this skill. --------- Restrictions: - Spoiler:
Sunlight: After the first 500 years, sunlight no longer burns, however it severely weakens them. Sunscreen and umbrellas work well to ward off its effects, but a vampire can still be overpowered during this time.
Running Water: Like most vampires, Tora has an aversion to water. Stagnant water, ponds, and bottled water is fine. Oceans, lakes, and streams however make her nauseous when attempting to cross and only strong will prevails.
Cherrywood: A stake to the heart will kill a vampire but only the right kind. Trees that were significant in the vampire's former human life are deadly. For Tora, cherry trees are dangerous; having lived in Japan when her life ended, she was surrounded by them.
---------------------- Weapons and Precious Items: - Spoiler:
Two Tanto (japanese knives) given to her by her father as a wedding gift. She keeps these on her at all times; no matter what heavy or dressy garments she wears.
---------------- Phobias: Very few things trouble her. Its more important if she feels threatened in any way. If that happens, she will act. ------------- Illnesses: Vampirism? --------------- Sexual Preferences: Opposite gender. --------------- Occupation: Organizer, financial advisor, 'stay at home mom', and any job she can acquire for a short amount of time before the vampires move on. ------------ History: Born in the late 1500s, Tora was the daughter of a very successful merchant when Portugal began trade with Japan. At the height of this prosperous time she was wedded to a powerful shogun's son. Not long after their marriage, she died. When the Europeans first opened the door of trade, both countries benefitted substantially. It was also an opportunity for the wickedness of the western world to stow away to infect the islands of Japan. Her husband was one of the first of young nobles to fall victim to the sensual vampiric women. Struggling to remain in the human world, he quickly sought a matchmaker and took Tora to be his wife; a beautiful foreign girl whose mother was Japanese. Talented, young, and full of life, he thought she would be his perfect companion. On their wedding night he turned her without consent. The couple became secluded and she learned that the vampirism was turning her husband mad and did the only thing she thought she could do; kill him. She didn't even know she'd failed. Fleeing and living in the wilderness, Tora had become urban legend when humans saw her. Not long after, in the early 1600s, Japan closed its trade routes. It was believed that it was because Catholic priests had snuck into the country and converted its people, part of the blame lies with vampires that terrorized and took control over the noble houses. It wasn't until trade opened with the rest of the world again in the 1800s that Tora travelled to Europe, winding up in England for some time on the way to Portugal, and created her first vampire; Moira. Instead of returning to her homeland, Tora adopted her newborn and tried to teach her how to be a gentle vampire. To not feed from humans and, if she must, to take only the wicked; on some occasions, blood letting those who enjoyed such things. For years she'd made progress with the vengeful Englishwoman until, while migrating into Sweden, they met another vampire. Over time they'd met and had scuffles with others like themselves but this one was timid and lost. Completely feral yet shaken and timid. With no memory of her human life, Tora named her Aisu and accepted her into their small coven. In the early 20s, World War One broke out and the vampires migrated further south again. At first, like many others, they took advantage of the bloodbath and fed well. Not long after, however, Tora made the decision to immigrate to the Americas. There they moved far out west where few humans lived and quickly moved up to Canada where the weather was colder. For the time being, they've settled just outside Montreal and move around the area now and again. With no desire to be tracked, the vampires live in a humble state. No bank or investment support them. The only form of currency or value the women have are the various types of jewelry or gems they acquire throughout their travels. When they desire to be with humans again, they liquidate their assets and live a life of luxury until their funds expire to return to the wilds again. ----------------- Status: Undead. | |

| Looks good, just got a few questions. First does she have the typical vampiric enhanced strength? It doesn't mention it in the bio, though if so how much? Lift a car? Maybe a few hundred pounds? Stuff like that. Same with her speed, how fast is she? I just need a basic idea is all.
In regards to the stake thing, I have no problems with it as long as its not the only way to kill her, its just very hard to otherwise. In some vampire lore, being beheaded will work.

| Ah, yes, details... ^_^"
Because of her age, strength gathers with time, she can lift a tank or construction truck. Her speed is the fastest as well. Of the three, she can move without being seen using only her vampiric ability. Though when she's tired you can see glimpses of her when she pauses to rest. And yes, the stakes not the only thing that can kill her, its just very hard to do so. Beheading works if a wooden sword made from cherrywood is used or a pure blade with a cherrywood hilt or core... For some reason I'm sticking with the stake thing, haha. | |

| So vanish from eyesight from human level? Anyway, as long as she can be stopped by conventional means even if its harder I'm fine with it. Approved.

| Oh, I just came up with a way to use holy water! lol It doesn't burn or anything, but if doused with it, they're slowed down just enough so that humans can see them. If shot with say an arrow soaked in holy water, they're wounded and take longer to heal; although mortal wounds can't kill them. Consequentially, it also makes them very hungry because they're losing precious blood. | |
